Sanskrit Dance Drama -Three days at Thrissur, Kerala

The Sanskrit dance drama by Ammannur Chachu Chakyar Smaraka Gurukulam at Irinjalakkuda will take place on 14,15 and 16 Nov 2014. The venue for thr 3-day event is Thekke Swamiyar Madom, PazhayaNadakkavu at Thrissur  in Kerala, India.The program starts each day at  06.00 pm.

The drama presents a series called Pakarnattam Rangavatharana Parambara which introduce and narrate the character ‘Mandodari’ in the story Asokavanikankam from the epic Ramayana. Asokavanikankam is presented as Koodiyattam, the Sanskrit theatre by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The Pakarnattam is presented by artists Kalamandalam Aparna Nangiar and Saritha Krishnakumar.

The schedule of the event is as follows,

After the inaugural session,
14 Nov :Purappadu by Aparna Nangiar.
15 Nov: Nirvahanam Onnan Divasam  ( The first day of narration of the character) by Saritha Krishnakumar .
16 Nov : Nirvahanam Randam Divasam (The second day of narration of the character) by Saritha Krishnakumar.

Aparna and Sangeetha are supported by Kalamandalam Rajeev, Kalamnadalam Hariharan, Kalamandalam Narayanan Nambiar on Mizhavu, the drum (Percussion).On Idakka (Percussion) Kalanilayam Unnikrishnan, and on Thalam (Cymbals) Archana Nandakumar, Gayathri Unnikrishnan and  Keerthi Sagar will accompany them.
