Upahaar School of Dance presents Nrithya-Upahaar, a yearly international festival of Classical dance. The festival will highlight this year the richness of the various Indian classical dance styles from the North to the South of India, such as Kathak, Bharathanatyam, Odissi, Mohiniattam and Kuchipudi.

Nrithya-Upahaar 2017, Festival of Classical Dance will be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, London W14 9HE  on  October 7th & October 8th, 2017

Nrithya-Upahaar is an internationally acclaimed festival that will bring over two days some of the best artists in their field. Amongst them, will be the acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, Praveen Kumar, a disciple of Late Smt Narmada, Bangalore and Prof C.V. Chandrashekar, Chennai; Mohiniyattam artist Smitha Rajan, grand-daughter and disciple of the legendary doyen- Late Smt Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma; Sreelakshmy Govardhanan, one of the foremost young talents in the field of Kuchipudi today, well-known Kathak artists from Pragav Dance Company- Shyam Dattani & Parbati Chaudhury; the popular Odissi artist Elena Catalano alongwith Maryam and Katie; and finally, Pallavi Anand, Anekha Pillai, Daniella Zak Varghese, Alisha Pillai and Shalini Shivashankar from Upahaar School of Dance, who perform regularly in the UK and abroad.
