Nrityaangan (R) presents the fourth edition of dance festival Manthana 2017 on 9th of September 2017, at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru . Renowned Bharatanatyam exponents Shri Adithya PV and Smt. Meenakshi Srinivasan will perform for Manthana 2017. The event is supported by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India & Department of Kannada & Culture, Govt of Karnataka.
Adhithya P V is a versatile dancer from Bengaluru. Adithya has performed at various national and international dance festivals in India & abroad. He is a principal dancer at Punyah Dance Company, Bengaluru headed by Parshwanath Upadhye.
Meenakshi Sreenivasan is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer. She has done many performances around the world. Meenakshi is an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relation’s reference panel of artistes. She has been awarded the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2011 by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, New Delhi. She has also been conferred the titles Natya Kala Vipanchee and the Natya Kala Dharshini.
Parshwanath Upadhye (Nattuvangam), Abhishek NS (Vocals), Janardhan Rao (Mridangam) and Shreedhar Acharya (Violin) will accompany Adhithya .
Meenakshi Sreenivasan will be accompanied by Jayashri Ramanathan (Nattuvangam), Hariprasad (Vocals), Vedakrishnaram (Mridangam), R Kalairasan (Violin).
A Bharatanatyam workshop Meenakshi Sreenivasan is also conducted as part of this event (08-10 Sept).
Nrityaangan is a registered charitable trust based out of Mangaluru, India that aim to propagate the Indian classical dances in and around coastal Karnataka by organizing workshops, dance festivals and lecture demonstrations that will nurture the next generation of artistes and provide them with opportunities.
