India Art Festival
India Art Festival, a mega art fair is presenting its sixth edition from 06 to 09 October 2016 at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. In this edition of India Art Festival, 42 art galleries from six countries and more than 500 artists are participating from 25 different cities from all over the world in 150 air-conditioned stalls.
In this four days art festival, artists from rural and urban area along with art galleries participate in large number with all kinds of artworks including paintings, sculptures, photographs, original prints, serigraphs and installations. Every year, India Art Festival hosts major and mid-level art galleries with thousands of refreshing and original artworks in oils, acrylics and water colour from the array of their associate artists and also gives opportunity to emerging, independent artists to get discovered and enjoy the attention along with the established master artists.
India Art Festival Conversations
India Art Festival, also host the ‘IAF Conversations’ a series of panel discussions, talk shows, presentations and demos in a two-days seminar on the issues & topics concerning contemporary art. In this two-days educative seminar, experts are invited to share their perspectives with the audiences on the subjects ranging from contemporary art and economy, art collection, exhibitions, studio practices, art galleries and art infrastructure in general. This year, as a part of IAF conversations, Dr. Deepak Kannal, former dean, Arts Faculty, M S University Baroda will have oneto-one conversations in four sessions spanning over two days with the well-known artists Prabhakar Kolte, Dr. Sudhir Patwardhan, Dilip Ranade and Suhas Bahulkar at an auditorium adjoining the exhibition hall at ground floor, Discovery of India building, Nehru Centre from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm on 07 and 08 Oct 2016.
Art Festival’s Managing Director Rajendra says “the success of last six editions of India Art Festival at Mumbai and New Delhi is the result of huge number of visitors including art buyers, artists, art connoisseurs and art collectors, who visited each and every edition of India Art Festival since 2011″.
In the Sixth edition of India Art Festival, 200 independent artists and 42 art galleries along with their 300 associate artists from all major cities are participating in 150 airconditioned stalls at Nehru Centre, Mumbai from 06 to 09 October 2016. The total 500 artists’ artworks will be on the visual arts platter of IAF visitors this year.
The Organisers of India Art Festival
India Art Festival is an initiative of Kalavishkar, an organization that endeavours to democratise Indian Art in all possible ways through the initiatives such as India Art Festival and Indian Contemporary Art Journal, its in-house quarterly magazine on visual arts published since 2009 by Kalavishkar.
