Festival of Uttarakhand at Chennai in December

DakshinaChitra celebrates the culture of a different state in India every year. This year the festival – Festival of Uttarakhand- will celebrate and revels the culture and traditions of Uttarakhand.

Festival of Uttarakhand

Folk dances of Uttarakhand such as choliya, chhapeli, ghasyari, chancheri, harul and jaunsari etc are performed on these days. Sansar Sanskritik & Paryavaran Sanrakshan Samiti from Almora, Uttarakhand will perform in the festival. The performances timings are scheduled as 11.30 am, 12.30 pm ,3.30 pm, 04.30 pm.
As part of the festival there will also be a display and sale of crafts which includes Aipan, copperware crafts, Bal Mithai, Avni Organic products and Aarohi- Apricot products.


DakshinaChitra is an exciting cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts in South India. The main mission is to exhibit, promote and preserve aspects of the broader, more inclusive cultures of the states and to bring these arts to the public in a participative, enjoyable and engaging way.
